Aging Parents. Now What?

Your parents are aging. Now what do you do? It’s time to educate yourself and your parents if they are willing and able. We know our parents are getting older but we don’t think about it or realize it until something happens like a bad fall, heart attack, or chronic health problem. Change can be hard at any age but especially for aging adults because they might be set in their routine. This presentation focuses on what you need to educate yourself on; supporting your parents and help them keep their control; alternative solutions; and making changes. This presentation is available for continuing education.

Unexpected Life Transition. How to go on?

We all face many transitions throughout our lives. These become those weeks or months or longer of awkward emotional spaces where we have cut ties with what we know and have not quite settled into what is new. Some we choose but others we are not given a choice. It is the unexpected life transitions that many have a harder time with. There is often grief and pain but these transitions can be periods of personal growth. This presentation identifies the many types of transitions people go through; list of potential range of emotions that individuals experience during transitions; steps involved to achieve acceptance/acknowledgement of the transitions; identify the various potential support systems and the benefits of getting support. This presentation is available for continuing education.

Dealing with the Hands We Are Dealt.

Every hand no matter how bad has the potential to be a winning hand. The hand you were dealt cannot be changed but the way you play it can be. We come into the world with certain things: family, gender, nationality, race, certain talents and abilities, and physical characteristics. Where our lives go from there is up to us. This presentation discusses the choices or attitudes one needs to make to determine how his or her life will be played and is available for continuing education.

Difficult People in the … Can you relate?

Most individuals have been in a situation where they have encountered a difficult individual whether it’s a family member, friend, or someone in the workplace. This presentation discusses ideas and tips on dealing with difficult people.

Leadership, where are you now?

What type of leader are you? This presentation discusses the various definitions of leadership and which one makes the best definition; priorities of a leader; why they are in a leadership role; and the levels of leadership.

Team Building and Communicating.

Some of the items discussed in the presentation are: what you need to think about when planning to team build or having a team building activity; verbal and non-verbal communicating face-to-face; running meetings; the art of feedback; and handling difficult communication situations.
